Jail for Robbers Who Terrified Shop Worker with Fake Gun

ARMED robbers who pointed a fake gun and a knife at a terrified shop assistant during a cash raid have been jailed for a total of 19 years.

Michael Watson, Wesley Harper and Philip Littleford - all from Oldham - burst into a convenience store wearing masks and subjected a woman working behind the counter to a 'terrifying experience', police said. All three pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of an imitation firearm and possession of a knife.

Watson, 34, of Marion Street, Fitton Hill, was jailed for six years. Harper, 39, of Osmond Street, Greenacres, also got six years and Littleford, 36, of Vincent Avenue, Spring Hill, was locked up for seven years.

The three carried out the 'opportunistic robbery' at Sunnyhill Stores in Wrenthorpe, near Wakefield in West Yorkshire, on August 31 and were sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, October 21. …
