Desermia, Keith A.

Keith A Desermia, 90, of Venice, died Wednesday, Oct. 19. He was a WWII veteran with a Purple Heart and other medals awarded while serving under Gen. George Patton, Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in combat Feb. 19, 1945 and spent many months in hospitals in England and the U.S. and honorably discharged Oct. 2, 1945. He enjoyed spending time with family and crafting with shells and sharks teeth and drinking beer and talking with his buddies, as well as going to the Senior Friendship Center. Keith was recognized and honored for his service with a pin and Honors certificate by Tidewell Hospice Oct. 20, 2016.

After he was released from the Army, he worked in the family furniture business and retired and moved to Florida about 1980 with his first wife of more than 50 years, the late Audrey Fielder (2004). …
