O, it's horror weekend, when everything evil that goes bump in the night, comes out to play.

SBut you know what? Horror would be nothing without a decent soundtrack; think of any scary movie and what makes it is the terrifying tunes, the sinister strings and rumbling rhythms all warning you that a reckoning is coming... Ready or not.

Pick a genius in this field and vying for the top of that list should be ace composer John Carpenter (he's a Jack of many trades actually - including directing, screenwriting, and producing - and master of all) whose soundtracks for the likes of Big Trouble In Little China, The Fog, The Thing, Vampires, and slasher Halloween contain the kind of music that sets every hair on end.

More recently, he has been putting some of his stirring music out as albums, releasing Lost Themes in 2015 and Lost Themes II earlier this year. …
