Tree Worker Killed in Ramsey Was Father of 2

RAMSEY -- A 30-year-old father from Rockland County, N.Y., was the tree service worker who was fatally struck by a portion of a tree that was being cut down at a town home complex, police said Thursday in a news release.

Police declined to identify the man by name but said that he was a husband and father of two children who lived in New City, N.Y. The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Peach Hill townhomes.

OSHA investigating

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which responded to the accident and is investigating because it was work- related, identified the company that employed the man as Northern Tree Service II in Wallington, N.Y. Ramsey police had declined to identify the company.

An OSHA spokeswoman said the company had no prior history of being investigated by the agency. …
