WVSU to Host High School Science Bowl

West Virginia State University's College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will host the annual Dr. James E. Brimhall RESA III Science Bowl at 9 a.m. on Nov. 4 in Hamblin Hall. The competition will feature 16 teams from eight area high schools. The top three teams will advance to the West Virginia Regional Science Bowl in February in Morgantown.

Registration for the competition will begin at 8 a.m., followed by opening remarks at 8:30 a.m. from West Virginia State University President Anthony L. Jenkins. Teams will then be selected to compete at random answering questions in a quiz bowl-style format.

Schools competing include Capital High School, George Washington High School, Herbert Hoover High School, Nitro High School, Poca High School, Riverside High School, Scott High School and South Charleston High School. …
