Motorcyclist suffers leg injuries in crash A MOTORCYCLIST needed surgery after a crash which left a road closed for about five hours.

It only re-opened at about 12.30am yesterday, as officers continued their investigations.

Police were called to George Street in Farnworth, Bolton, just after 7.30pm on Sunday to reports of a collision between a car and a bike.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a red Toyota Yaris and a black Honda X125 in George Street, Farnworth, just after 7.30pm on Friday.

The male motorcyclist suffered leg injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics, with police saying he required surgery.

"The road was closed between Moorside Avenue and Ramsay Avenue and reopened at 12.30am.

Police said the driver of the car was not hurt.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with leg injuries. His condition is not life threatening."
