CITY'S youngsters were given a stark reminder that they still have some way to go to match the standards of Barcelona at youth level, never mind in the seniors.

For all their investment and imitation of the famed La Masia academy, the Blues are still behind the Catalans on the evidence of yesterday's Uefa Youth League clash.

City are still favourites to qualify from the group, in second place, but it means they will face a February play-off to get to the next round.

The young Blues had bossed the game in the Mini Estadi in Barcelona a fortnight ago, with precocious 16-year-old Jadon Sancho on top form - but lack of composure in front of goal cost them a 1- 0 defeat.
