Family Left Devastated by Driver's Death after Crash

A FAMILY has paid tribute to a grandfather who died following a collision on the M61.

Michael Frith, 61, of Newton, in Hyde, suffered a severe medical episode while at the wheel and collided with another vehicle on Friday, October 28.

The Ford Transit he was driving collided with another vehicle and left the road, before coming to a stop on a grass verge, between junction 9 and 10 near Chorley.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.45am and he was taken to Royal Preston Hospital in an ambulance.

It is understood Michael was travelling back to his workplace in Hyde at the time, having made a delivery in the Preston area.

Other passing motorists came to his aid until the air ambulance arrived to the scene. …
