Port Authority and Union to Review Fact-Finder's Report on Pact

The Port Authority and the union representing 2,200 workers, including bus drivers and light-rail operators, have 15 days to accept or reject a fact-finder's report on a new contract.

Both sides acknowledged Monday that they have received the report by an appointee of the state Labor Relations Board but declined to say what the fact-finder recommended. Each side has 15 days to decide whether to accept the report, which must be accepted by both sides to go into effect.

"We have 15 days to look at it and see what happens," said Joseph Pass, the attorney for Local 85 of the Amalgamated Transit Union.

"We won't speculate what will happen until both sides make their decision," authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said. "We are currently focused on what will happen in the next 15 days. …
