MEC SOCCER ; UC Women Begin Tournament Play Wednesday vs. Wesleyan

The University of Charleston women's soccer team begins its postseason at 7 p.m. Wednesday, hosting West Virginia Wesleyan in the Mountain East Conference tournament semifinals at the soccer fields at Trace Fork. The winner of that game faces the winner between No. 1 seed Notre Dame College and No. 4 seed West Liberty on Sunday at the home field of the highest-seeded remaining team.

The second-seeded Golden Eagles (13-3-2, 13-2-1 MEC) have won three straight since falling 2-1 to Notre Dame in Charleston on Oct. 20. Third-seed Wesleyan (12-2-3, 11-2-3 MEC) are in the exact same boat, winning three straight after a loss to Notre Dame.

UC's team will take the field Wednesday with a few players who have new additions to their trophy cases. …
