Two Wounded in Rutgers Campus Stabbing

PISCATAWAY -- A student and a faculty member were stabbed at Rutgers Business School in Piscataway on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The victims as well as a suspect, now in custody, were being treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for their injuries, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Kenneth Cop of the Rutgers University police said in a news release.

The incident occurred on Rutgers' Livingston campus, about 2:30 p.m., the university said.

"A former student apparently initiated the incident and the other two individuals, a student and a faculty member, were injured," the release from Carey and Cop said.

No charges have been filed, they said, but the investigation is continuing.

According to social media, the incident prompted a lockdown on campus, which was lifted by late afternoon. …
