MANCHESTER'S landmark London Road Fire Station will be transformed into a winter wonderland with its own ice skating rink this Christmas and now organisers have announced they will be hosting a free party on the launch night.

On Friday, The Winter Gathering will celebrate its opening night by offering free entry to anyone through the doors before 6pm.

But visitors should arrive promptly, as doors open at 4pm and anyone arriving after 6pm will be charged an entry fee of Pounds 5. And for those looking to push the festive boat out, ice skating will be on offer for Pounds 12 a session.

In addition, the party will include entertainment from raucous brass band, Mr Wilson's Second Liners, and a line up of foodie delights provided by street food talent from across the UK. …
