Goodwin, Samuel Ned

Samuel Ned Goodwin, peacefully passed away on October 31, 2016 in Sarasota where he resided for over 50 years. He was 85 years old.

Ned was a driven man with a passion for anything on wheels including antique cars. He wore many hats including, but not limited to, father, teacher, salesman, counselor and friend.

He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force Motor Vehicle Squadron where he witnessed combat during the Korean War.

He owned and operated North Trail Automotive Service Station, and worked at Tropical Cadillac in Bradenton before his retirement. He and his love of automobiles will truly be missed.

Ned is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Leita Goodwin or Sweet Cookie; their children, Bob and (Cindy) Goodwin of Colombia Falls, Montana, Steve and (Melanie) Goodwin, of Sarasota, and Elizabeth Goodwin Harris and (David) of Kissimmee; four grandsons; Jake and his wife Christina, Brian, Willie, and Drew; two step granddaughters, Jeana and Sarah; four step great- grandchildren, Jade, Megan, Brad and Zoe; and host of other loved ones. …
