A YOUNG man who fell to his death in Manchester city centre has been named as James Lees.

Mr Lees died after falling from a building onto Aytoun Street, near Minshull Street Crown Court, in the early hours of Saturday morning after reportedly climbing up scaffolding on a nearby car park.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the 21-year-old was sadly pronounced dead.

Friends have been paying tribute to James, who was from Hartlepool, describing him as a 'top lad.' .

Mark Belsham posted on Facebook: "Honestly, lost for words, good mate throughout secondary school, spoke a while back about how much has changed since then... taken far too early! RIP Leezy x James Lees."

Leonie Mann said: "Couldn't think of a nicer person than James Lees! He was always there for me like a big brother, offered me the best advice."

Josh Hughes said: "Can't believe the news I've received this morning, my best mate James Lees since I can't even remember has passed away. …
