Tri-County Y Official Named W.Va. Afterschool Ambassador

The West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network has announced that Angel Anderson, the Family Services Director at the Tri-County YMCA in Scott Depot, has been selected to serve as a 2016-2017 West Virginia Afterschool Ambassador. Anderson is one of five leaders from West Virginia to be chosen for the honor this year. Each Afterschool Ambassador will continue directing or supporting a local after-school program while also serving the one-year Afterschool Ambassador term, organizing public events, communicating with policy makers and building support for after-school programs.

The Tri-County YMCA, in cooperation with Putnam County Schools, teaches 350 students after school each day at 10 elementary school sites: Confidence, Conner Street, Eastbrook, Hurricane Town, Mountain View, Rock Branch, Scott Teays, West Teays, Winfield and George Washington. …
