Gas Prices Fall by 10 Cents

Gas prices slid 5.5 cents in the past week, to within 9 cents of the $2 mark, according to AAA data.

A gallon of regular was selling for an average of $2.093 on Monday in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market.

That was down more than 10.5 cents from this time a month ago, AAA reported.

Meanwhile, the state average came in at $2.154 on Monday. That was also down about 5 cents from a week ago and about 10 cents from this time in October.

It was the 27th day of consecutive drops in the Sunshine State, with the declines coming at a rate of about a half cent per day.

"Gas prices are falling because of low demand and oil prices, but also improvements in gasoline supplies," AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said. …
