Monday was the first day I didn't cry over the election. I wasn't able to go to work the day after the election until 1 p.m. because I was so upset - and because I was up for 22 hours volunteering for Hillary Clinton, then watching returns. But I did go to work eventually, because I'm a woman, and we have work to do.

On Election Day, I watched my childhood hero, the embodiment of feminist ideals - and the answer back to every cat call on the street, to every boss sexually harassing his female employees, to every ad selling little girls makeup and princess toys and baby dolls and kitchen sets while selling little boys adventures and cars and tool benches and telescopes, to every rape and sexual assault, to every slur directed at women who express or enjoy their sexuality the way men do without a second thought, to every person telling women to sit down and smile and watch her tone and know her place and look nice while telling men to step forward and step up - lose to the most misogynistic presidential candidate I've ever seen. …
