Lambert Predicts 8 Percent Spike in Travelers This Thanksgiving Travel Period

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is anticipating an 8 percent spike in passengers this Thanksgiving travel period over last year.

That means about 13,000 more people will make their way through the airport during the 10-day travel period that started Friday, the airport said.

The busiest days are expected to be Wednesday, when nearly 22,000 passengers will depart, and Sunday.

The airport is expecting very full planes in these coming days, and more than 167,000 people on flights leaving St. Louis last year, that number was 156,000.

And Lambert expects gate areas to be even more crowded with passengers connecting through St. Louis. So far this year, the airport is trending 30 percent higher for connecting passengers than 2015, it said. …
