President-elect Donald Trump is taking some disturbing positions:

1) He believes in a casino economy, in which there are big winners and lots of losers. This is obvious in his planned reduction of the business tax to 15 percent from 35 percent. Businesses rarely expand when they get extra cash, but more often acquire other businesses (sometimes with layoffs).

2) He prefers a dictatorial style, expressing admiration for Vladimir Putin and other demagogues. He doesn't like protesters. He often reacts first and thinks later (see: Twitter messages). His anger is of the trigger-happy variety. Let us hope that he doesn't conclude (as when faced with Kim Jong Un's provocations in North Korea) that nuclear weapons can be used to solve problems.

3) He prefers angry white men for his Cabinet posts.

4) His orientation is America first - in a globalized world with many power centers. …
