Kamins Give $5M to Museum to Endow Director Post

Pittsburgh philanthropists Daniel and Carole Kamin have made a $5 million gift that will permanently endow the Carnegie Museum of Natural History's director position, a job now held by Eric Dorfman.

Mr. Dorfman, who has led the museum since August 2015, will assume the title of Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Director of Carnegie Museum of Natural History. His position oversees research, exhibitions and visitor experiences at the museum.

The gift, to be given in installments, reflects the couple's ongoing connection to the Carnegie Museums - she is a longtime Natural History board member and buyer/manager for both the CMOA and Natural History gift shops and currently chairs the Natural History merchandising committee.
