A height limit that Cardinals broadcaster Mike Shannon said restricts his ability to sell the building that housed his St. Louis restaurant could be on the way out.

Shannon's efforts to sell the building at 620 Market Street that formerly housed Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood have been thwarted by a height restriction, his attorney, David Sweeney, told the Post- Dispatch last month. The restaurant closed in January, and development on his Market Street building near the Cardinals' Busch Stadium is limited to 35 feet.

To remove the height restriction, the Cardinals, Cordish Cos. and the city's Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority must agree to get rid of the limitation. The Cardinals and Cordish, developers of Ballpark Village, have yet to say publicly they will drop their opposition to removing the restriction. …
