CASE 79 * T is a 22-year-old man with epilepsy and congenital cytomegalovirus, an infection that can cause a series of long-term health problems. He is unable to verbally communicate and can walk only a short distance with the help of a walker. Because he requires 24-hour care, his mother cannot work. T's sister, 18, who also lives with them, has sickle cell disease. They seldom have enough money for groceries and rely on food pantries. The family's greatest needs are help with utility payments, rent assistance and clothing. The family could use household items such as pots and pans, bedding and personal hygiene products. The mother and daughter also enjoy lotions and perfumes.
