I am saddened by the consternation evident in recent editorial pages regarding the president-elect's appointment of David Friedman as ambassador to Israel.

As a partial antidote I suggest the following readings, plainly there for all to see on Google: The Palestinian National Covenant and The Hamas Charter. These are unedited documents. No spin, just pure and current fact.

Some folks willing to do the research in a detached and objective state of mind might be moved to rethink their take on the Arab-Israel conflict, particularly the politically correct who assume that Israel is the obstacle to peace.

There's nothing in those writings that envisions a two-state solution. Maybe if the Palestinian and Hamas leadership wanted a two-state solution and lasting peace it would have happened a long time ago, and the policies of Benjamin Netanyahu we all decry - over our lattes at Starbucks -are the effect rather than the cause of the impasse. …
