Kathleen Louise Brunson (White) died on Dec. 25, 2016, in Sarasota, FL due to complications following a stroke. She was 92. Prior to her passing, she had been a three-year resident of Sunnyside Village in Sarasota and a 64-year resident of Sarasota.

Mrs. Brunson was born on Feb. 4, 1924 in Lake Odessa, MI to her parents, Claude and Edith White. She married Donald Brunson in 1944. The Brunsons moved to Sarasota in 1952 where Donald worked for the General Telephone Company. Kathleen worked as a patient and supportive preschool teacher at the Out of Door Academy on Siesta Key, where she touched the lives of many, many young children during her years there. After retirement, she dedicated her time to her many passions including volunteering at the Concordia Lutheran Church, the Sarasota Garden Club, and Sarasota Butterfly Club. She also enjoyed travel and frequently visited friends and family around the country. While at Sunnyside she continued her tradition of being an avid card player, meeting regularly with her friends. …
