EDITOR DIES

Joseph B. McCullagh, editor of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, dies at his home in an apparent suicide. He had been a noted war correspondent during the Civil War. He was credited with inventing a format for the interview and compiling 48 rules for reporting the news.
