Prosecutors have three months to complete a second mental evaluation of a Hackensack man charged with killing his wife - or the case will move forward without it, a Superior Court Judge said Monday.

Thomas Fabbricatore, 67, has been at the Ann Klein Forensic Center, a state psychiatric facility in West Trenton, since August 2015. He appeared in court Monday morning for a status conference in a wheelchair, his hair matted to his face on one side.

Defense Attorney Diane Lucianna, after asking Fabbricatore if he knew who she was and where they were, expressed concern to the judge about his mental state.

A report by doctors at Ann Klein found that Fabbricatore suffers from dementia that is likely related to Alzheimer's disease, likely has a bi-polar disorder and is unlikely to regain competency, according to information from the report shared in court previously. …
