The Sunshine State added 12,500 jobs in December, a continued slowdown from November and other recent months, an analysis by a national human resources and payroll processing firm shows.

Florida had added 14,400 private-sector jobs in November, the ADP data released Wednesday showed, while creating 15,800 positions in October and 18,800 in September.

The December 2016 number was the lowest since April. The best performance in the past year was December 2015's 23,800 positions.

Last month, Florida created 11,300 service-producing jobs and 1,200 goods-producing positions.

Business and professional services led with the most jobs, at 3,700. Trade, transportation and utilities created 1,400 jobs, while natural resources/mining and construction saw 1,000.

Manufacturing created 200 positions. …
