Henry B. Hostaller, 98, (Hank), passed away peacefully while hospitalized for the flu on January 4, 2017 at Venice Hospital. Born in 1918, raised in Brooklyn, New York, Hank served during World War II as a Merchant Marine and in later years, after retiring from Hiram Walker, returned to the seas to continue his travels and utilize his knowledge and expertise in nautical travel and ship navigation, of which he received numerous licenses and commendations.

In retirement, Hank resided on the West coast of Florida where he continued to write poetry, fish, and appreciate the floral vegetation and sunsets. Hank loved the people and social atmosphere of the tranquil retirement communities where he lived. …
