Died peacefully January 6, 2017 at the age of 100 years and 8 months.

She was born May 19, 1916, on a farm in Ft. Ransom, North Dakota. She tells stories about Indians looking through the windows of the cabin just to check them out.

Her parents Lois Lorentson and Lilly (Anderson) Lorentson in 1922 moved the family to Chicago, IL, looking for more work. She only spoke Norwegian when she was enrolled in the first grade.

Mae met her husband Sylvester Becker when they both were working at Stewart Warner in Chicago. After dating for a while he said he wanted to marry her and adopt her twins Beverly and Gary. They married in 1940 and the children were 3 years old.

For many years, Mae and Sly had a family machine shop in Chicago while residing in Park Ridge, IL. After retirement, they both traveled the world. They were with the first group of tourists to enter China. Also, they bought a ticket with Pan Am Airway to travel to the moon. …
