The 61st Bergen County Jamboree basketball tournament will be a 23-team affair with three Big North United teams holding down the top seeds.

Bergen Catholic was named the top seed Wednesday night by the Jamboree committee, the first time the Crusaders earned that spot since 2003. They are followed by Don Bosco and St. Joseph, with Teaneck holding down the fourth seed.

The fifth through ninth seeds go to, in order, Dwight-Englewood, Pascack Hills, NV/Old Tappan, Hackensack and Pascack Valley. The top nine will all have a bye this weekend into the Round of 16.

Two teams will be making their first appearances this century. Emerson last played in the Jamboree 30 years ago in 1987, while Bergen Tech will make only its second Jamboree appearance and first since 1995.

First-round games will be played on Saturday at three different sites. …
