Rose Ankle Injury Could Keep Him on the Sidelines

ATLANTA -- Derrick Rose came to the Knicks with a troubling history of leg injuries, but until Sunday he had not missed a game with a leg problem. That ended with Rose siting out against the Hawks with a sprained left ankle - an injury that will almost certainly sideline him for at least the next two games.

Rose had missed five games previously - four with back spasms and one when he went AWOL - but had managed to avoiding leg issues. But in the third quarter Friday in the Knicks' win over Charlotte Rose came down on the foot of Hornets' point guard Kemba Walker while trying to defend under the rim.

"it started throbbing right away," Rose said. "Usually if it was a tweak I'd try to walk it off. I tried to wait a little minute to see if it was going to die down but the throbbing, it's kind of hard when you feel like your heartbeat is in that area. …
