Kinkaid's Second Start in Row Doesn't Go as Well as His First in Devils' Loss

NEWARK - Keith Kinkaid started a second straight game for the first time this season in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Capitals at Prudential Center.

It also marked the first time Kinkaid has ever started two straight over a healthy Cory Schneider.

Last season, Kinkaid started the season's second and third games when Schneider was unavailable for Game No. 3 to attend the birth of his child. Kinkaid also started six straight games in March with Schneider out with a knee injury.

Kinkaid made 43 saves in Thursday's 2-1 shootout win at Washington.

"They had a lot more screens," Kinkaid said after stopping just 20 shots on Saturday. "I had to really battle for them."
