Three Interviewed for Vacant Seat on Kinnelon Council

Kinnelon's Mayor and Borough Council interviewed three candidates Thursday night to fill the seat left vacant byCouncilman Adam Barish, who resigned on Dec. 16.

The three candidates nominated by the local Republicans are Carmen Pio Costa, Louis Mai and Glenn Sisco.

Pio Costa is relative newcomer to town but not to politics. He said he moved to Kinnelon about a year ago and works as property manager for Pio Costa enterprises in Fairfield. In 2007 and 2009 he ran unsuccessfully for state assembly in District 36.

"I did pretty well in 2007 so they asked me to run again in 2009," Pio Costa said. "I met a lot of people during the process."

Mai is an accountant who has worked as a municipal auditor over the years. He runs Louis Mai Associates and has lived in Kinnelon for 28 years. He said he is doing less auditing work these days. …
