Florida families will spend an average of $75 per person to enjoy Super Bowl LI, down slightly from last year.

Total spending nationally is expected to reach $14.1 billion as football fans prepare to watch the Atlanta Falcons take on the New England Patriots next weekend, according to the Florida Retail Federation.

"The Super Bowl is truly a must-see event for Floridians, whether they follow the sport closely or not, and we expect local consumers to load up on food, drinks and decorations for their game watching parties," said Randy Miller, Florida Retail Federation president & CEO.

The National Retail Federation reported that, of the 76 percent of those surveyed who plan to watch the game,

80 percent say they will buy food and beverages. …
