BRADENTON -- Saint Stephen's Episcopal School scored two goals early and put up a defensive wall, led by goalkeeper Trevor Mulqueen, on Wednesday night at the Moore Athletic Complex at Turner Fields.

The Falcons (18-1-1) added another goal in the second half and went on to dominate Fort Myers Canterbury, 3-0, in a Class 1A- Region 2 quarterfinal soccer match.

Senior Alex Virgilio, who earlier in the day signed his letter of intent to be a kicker on the Wingate University football team, got things rolling with some nifty footwork on a breakaway goal with 25:14 left in the first period.

Nico Colacci stunned the Cougars less than 90 seconds later with another score to make it 2-0.
