New Lions Club Chapters Forming in Bridgeville, Carnegie

Two new chapters of Lions Clubs International are forming in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh.

Bridgeville Lions Club was formed in the fall and held a charter night celebration in mid-January.

A Carnegie Lions Club is in the works, Kirby Marchand of North Versailles told Carnegie council at its Jan. 9 meeting. Mr. Marchand is a longtime member of the White Oak Lions Club and the second vice district governor of Lions District 14 B, which includes the 35 Lions Clubs in Allegheny County.

The Carnegie group is canvassing local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and civic leaders to find at least 20 people who want to become club members, Mr. Marchand said. Carnegie previously had a Lions Club from 1939 to 2003, he said.
