JEFFERSON CITY > Greitens names revenue director * Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens named his latest agency head Tuesday, picking a longtime private sector accountant to oversee the state's tax collection agency.

Joel Walters, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, is set to run the Missouri Department of Revenue, which processes tax returns, oversees motor vehicle registrations and investigates violations of state tax laws.

He replaces former Revenue chief Nia Ray, who left in August for a similar position in Oregon.

Walters' company biography notes that he helps the U.S. operations of foreign-based companies identify operational and structural tax planning opportunities.

Walters, 58, is scheduled to start April 1. He will earn an estimated $122,000 annually, according to the governor's office. …
