$1 Million Bonds Set for Pair in West Side Shooting

A man and woman were arraigned Thursday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court in connection with a shooting Monday on Charleston's West Side. Scott Breeden Jr., 19, and Yasmin Pegram, 18, can be seen in a surveillance video holding handguns and shooting into a car - occupied by three passengers - during a failed drug deal, according to a criminal complaint.

The driver, Keith Paul, complained about the drugs he bought from Pegram and Breeden, and the pair, according to the complaint, shot him in his neck and torso. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Bullets also struck passenger Marsha Nichols, and a third passenger was apparently unharmed.

Both suspects are charged with one count of wanton endangerment and two counts of malicious wounding. Bond was set at $1 million, each. …
