New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis turned himself in to police Friday on charges connected to the assaults of two men Sunday on the South Side.

Mr. Revis appeared at City Court, Downtown, about 7:15 p.m.

"He wanted to turn himself in; he didn't want to be a fugitive from the law," said one of Mr. Revis' attorneys Blaine Jones. "He wanted to make this happen."

Mr. Revis came to the court with Mr. Jones and his mother and an aunt.

Mr. Jones said he believes Mr. Revis has a good case in his defense.

"He's hoping that he can be vindicated, and I hope that in the next phase he will be vindicated," Mr. Jones said.

"Based on the investigating that I've done and the private investigator that works for my firm has done ... I think that he has a very promising case."

He was charged by Pittsburgh police with two counts of aggravated assault, robbery and other charges after an altercation with two men on East Carson Street about 2:40 a. …
