4 Current, Former UC Players Face Heroin Charges

Two current and two former University of Charleston football players were arrested late Saturday on heroin charges. Kaimire Hodge, Juan Morgan, Nicholas Covington and Justin Hall were all booked into South Central Regional Jail around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the jail website.

Jail officials say Covington, 19, of Springdale, Maryland; Hall, 18, of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Morgan, 19, of Kannapolis, North Carolina are charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin. Hodge, 20, of Richmond, Virginia, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin and receiving/transferring stolen property.

A UC spokesman said Sunday the school is cooperating with police.

"The University of Charleston is aware of and dealing with the situation, and is cooperating with local authorities as they determine specific details, David Traube wrote in an email to the Gazette-Mail. …
