Chuck E. Cheese's Holds Special Sundays for Kids with Special Needs

Chuck E. Cheese's locations in Bergen and Hudson counties are offering special days filled with quieter play and less crowds for children with special needs.

The restaurant franchise and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) have joined forces to launch the Sensory Sensitive Sundays program in 54 Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants in the Northeast area. Restaurants first began testing Sensory Sensitive Sundays last year to provide a safe and sensory-friendly play place for children with autism and other special needs, said Christelle Dupont, Chuck E. Cheese's Public Relations manager.

"The Sensory Sensitive Sundays program provides less crowds, dimmed lighting in the space, no music and no costumed characters," said Dupont.
