Ellsbury Arrives in Camp after Delay

TAMPA, Fla. - Jacoby Ellsbury reported to Yankees camp on Tuesday, but did not fully participate in workouts. The outfielder was delayed as his wife, Kelsey, gave birth to a daughter over the weekend.

"We'll watch him the next few days. Obviously, he's a couple of days behind. If it's three or four (days), whatever it is," said manager Joe Girardi. "Physically, he looks good. We'll see where he is sometime at the end of the weekend, or early next week."

Talk it out

Girardi said he participated in an umpires' meeting today but was not specific about any potential changes in shortening games or altering the strike zone. "It's possible some of these things could be instituted before the season starts (but) I don't really think it's fair that I share it because I'm not sure what's going to happen," Girardi said.

On the mend

Right-hander Ronald Herrera is experiencing shoulder inflammation and will be sidelined for up to two weeks. And lefty James Reeves has a mild sprain to the ligament of his pitching elbow, which will keep him sidelined from three-to-four weeks according to Girardi. …
