No backpacks or coolers * Also, wait until you get to Soulard to start celebrating no food, drink or alcohol are allowed on MetroLink buses or Mardi Gras shuttles.

Driving * Mardi Gras organizers suggest not driving to Soulard. Those who do could use the Palaroo app to get directions and find parking. Area highway ramps will be closing, some as early as 6 a.m. Saturday.

Metro shuttles * Metro Transit is running shuttle service Saturday between the Stadium MetroLink station downtown and Soulard, at 10th Street between Carroll and Marion streets.

Shuttles will run every 15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Round-trip passes are $6. College students with a U-Pass or those with a Metro monthly pass can ride the shuttle for free.

MetroLink * MetroLink will operate every 20 minutes on the red and blue lines Saturday, with trains arriving every 10 minutes at stations between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere and Fairview Heights MetroLink stations. …
