Speakers at Charleston Church's Lenten Series Will Address Events

In the year of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church's annual Lenten Speaker Series will feature five clergy members addressing their perspectives. Martin Luther sparked the Protestant Reformation when he posted his Ninety-five Theses on a church door and sent them to the Archbishop of Mainz on October 31, 1517. The Reformation was continued by John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli and other early Protestant Reformers in 16th-century Europe, and eventually reshaped the face of the Christian church worldwide.

The speaker series starts March 8 and runs consecutive Wednesdays through Lent, concluding on April 5. It takes place in Mathes Hall at 36 Norwood Road in South Hills.
