Originalist' conservatives abandoned constitutional duty

With a year left in Barack Obama's presidency, Justice Antony Scalia died. The Constitution revered by "originalist conservatives required the Senate to advise and consent on the imminently qualified Merrick Garland. Instead, Mitch McConnell and other Republicans abandoned their duty, they said, in order "to let the people have a voice in this selection. The people delivered an opinion in preference to a liberal over a raging right-winger by almost 3 million votes. If McConnell had actually been listening, he would have brought Garland to a Senate vote before Donald Trump assumed power.

The ONLY reason Trump is president is the flaw in the Constitution that created the Electoral College. …
