A Woodland Hills High School student who last year recorded the principal threatening to punch him has been placed on six months of probation on an unrelated wiretap charge.

Attorney Todd Hollis, representing the unidentified youth, said his teenage client was adjudicated as a delinquent on the single charge involving a school counselor and a student.

"My client contends that because the administration was basically bullying him, the recording was his own means of a defense for the wrongdoing of the administration," Mr. Hollis said. "I am pleased that this aspect of the case has concluded, and we are moving forward."

The next step, he said, will involve civil action.
