Krewson Spent Nearly $1 Million on Mayoral Bid in the Past Month

With just a week left before the St. Louis mayoral primary, Alderman Lyda Krewson's campaign has ramped up fundraising and is outspending most competitors by a wide margin.

Mayoral candidates were required to file their last campaign finance reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission on Monday.

According to Krewson's filing, her campaign raised $570,000 in the past month, bringing her total haul to about $1.25 million during this election cycle. She has about $116,000 on hand as she heads into the final stretch of the campaign.

Krewson's campaign also spent nearly $1 million during the past month, the vast majority of which went to TV ad buys.

In the past month, she's received large donations from unions as well former Washington University Chancellor William Danforth and Sam Fox, a prominent Republican donor who has given to current Mayor Francis Slay in the past. …
