Sears Elected First Vice President of Real Estate Appraisers Society

R. Howard Sears of Oklahoma City has been elected first vice president of the 17,000-member Society of Real Estate Appraisers.

He will take office Jan. 1. He was elected by the society's board of governors for a one-year term.

Sears will assist the society president nationally in representing members who practice the valuation and analysis of all types of real property. Together, they will direct the society's efforts in training and designating qualified appraisers and maintaining high standards for the appraisal profession.

Sears is owner/president of Market Data Research Inc., a real estate information and consulting firm. He has been an appraiser for 26 years, specializing in commercial and industrial property valuation and eminent domain/condemnation assignments. . .

- Marolyn Pryor has been installed as the 1987 president of the Central Oklahoma City Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors.

- Sally Unger has been appointed branch manager of the northwest Oklahoma City office of Merrill Lynch Realty.

- Lisa Raines of Southwest Property Management Corp. has successfully completed the "Leasing and Management of Shopping Center and Retail Space" course sponsored by the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Successful completion of a series of the institute's courses is one requirement needed to achieve the designation of certified property manager.

Raines manages approximately 771,000 square feet of shopping center space in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. She has been with Southwest Property Management Corp. for four years.

Southwest Property Management Corp. is a subsidiary of Henderson National Corp. and manages approximately 3 million square feet of shopping centers, 12 office buildings, more than 7,500 multi-family units and 2,500 mini-storage units. . .

- Rob Shaff of Oklahoma City has been awarded the professional real estate appraisal designation "master residential appraiser" by the National Association of Master Appraisers.

The designation was conferred upon Shaff after he completed the educational requirements, passed written examinations and met established criteria for qualification. …
