Amcare Trustees OK Budget for Fiscal Year

The AmCare board of trustees voted Friday to approve its $6.8 million budget for fiscal year 1987-88 - a budget which would keep membership costs at the same level but would increase non-membership and emergency run costs.

The budget must still be approved by the Oklahoma City Council.

The $6.8 million budget is slightly smaller than the $6.9 million budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1987.

Key items in the new budget are:

- Memberships will remain at $46 per family year.

- A 9 percent across-the-board increase will be put into effect on non-member rates.

- The cost of an emergency ambulance run will increase from $295 to $314.

- There will be no salary increases for AmCare salaried personnel.

In another mtter, the board of trustees was informed that the trust would be making its final payment this year to the city on a $1.4 million start-up loan.

The interest-free loan was issued to AmCare by the city in 1978 when the organization was about 2 years old. …
