Bids on Bond Issue to Fund Aviation Center to Be Opened

Bids on a $5.59 million bond issue to fund the Oklahoma City Vo-Tech District 22 Aviation Career Center will be opened and awarded at a special meeting today of the Oklahoma City Airport Trust, according to the agenda.

The agenda also recommends approval of a $4.58 million construction contract to Canam Construction Co. Inc. for the aviation center.

Ground breaking for the center is slated for May 22 on the southeast corner of the intersection of SW 54th St. and S. MacArthur Blvd. on Will Rogers World Airport property where the building training center is to be constructed.

In other business, the trust is expected to:

- Approve the request of Aerospace America '87 to conduct an air show on June 20 and 21 at Will Rogers.

- Approve Libra Electric Co. as contractor of a $697,125 construction project to build and install new signs along the access roads to the Will Rogers terminal.

- Rescind previous action which transfered the authority to issue bonds for the proposed $55 million Ramcor Aircraft Maintenance Corp. …
